Cookie policy

This site sets nothing on your device until you choose. Traffic measurement runs without cookies and without identifying you. Google Analytics is the only thing that sets cookies, and only if you accept.

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. The same rules cover the similar technologies a modern site uses — local storage, session storage and pixels — so they are all included here.

In the EU these are governed by the ePrivacy Directive as implemented locally: § 25 TDDDG in Germany, and chapter 9 § 28 of the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (2022:482).

Plausible, which measures traffic on every page, is absent from this table on purpose: it stores nothing on your device at all. It counts a unique visit using a hash of your IP address and browser that is re-salted every day and never stored, which is why it needs no consent and cannot follow you to another site.

The two Google Analytics cookies appear only after you accept analytics. Until then the Google script is never loaded and no request is made to Google. The storage key verdant_consent is a leftover name from the original site build; it holds nothing but your consent choices and the date you made them.

• Essential — page delivery, security and remembering your consent choice. Always on, because the site cannot work without it and the law does not require consent for it.
• Analytics — Google Analytics, for a deeper read on how pages are used than the cookieless measurement gives us. Off unless you turn it on.
• Marketing — reserved for advertising and conversion measurement. Nothing is currently configured in this category, so accepting it loads nothing today.

Nothing in the analytics or marketing categories loads before you accept it. Refusing is one click, in the same place as accepting.

You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving — that is your right under Article 7(3) GDPR, and this button is how we honour it. Withdrawing does not delete data already collected; for that, use the erasure right in the privacy policy.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we record a refusal for you automatically and never ask.

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear site storage. Doing so also clears your saved consent choice, so the banner will ask again on your next visit.

If we add anything that stores data on your device, it goes in the table above before it goes live, and the date at the top of this page changes.
